Wireless technology makes nightclubs silent
Posted: February, 07 2008A new trend is taking over the nightclub scene in Europe - Instead of massive 1000 watt speakers, nightclubs are pumping the music directly into party-goers ears over an FM radio broadcast from the DJ box.
The idea is going to be experimented in the United States on Saturday February 23rd 2008 in Boston - Silent Dance Experiment.
The silent party concept was the brainchild of two Dutch DJs, Michael Minten and Nico Okkerse, who held their first event in the Netherlands in 2002 before bringing the idea to Britain.
One of the benefits from the idea is the ability to play multiple styles of music - retro and electro house, for instance - in one room.
Another benefit, is the ability to be able to speak with friends without the need to lose your voice in the process.
