I happen to like the fade. If you want to use any of the links on the page, they reappear quick enough.

Thanks a lot for this, it has been annoying me since it arrived. When you have 50+ Gmail accounts for clients, those extra seconds really add up!

Yeah google fades are pointless, I have IE8, yes I quite like IE8.. anyway anyone found a fix for this with IE8?

Nice one Mark; that’s a neat alternative for all Browsers and those who don’t want to install the Add-on / Script.

Using http://www.google.com/search?q=%12 is all very well but if you want a country-specific starting point (google.co.uk for eample) which allows you to search the .com or .co.uk TDs, it is not so helpful. I haven’t found a “.co.uk” equivalent yet.

The problem with www.google.com/ig is that it put a lot of other junk on the page and take significantly longer to come up. One of the great things about google in the past has been how quick the page came up.

Another possible drawback to either /ig or http://www.google.co.uk/search?&q=+ is that you will not longer get to see the day specific Google logos. But I would rather have fast access to the top links everyday.

I’m using the firefox start page (you dont have to use the firefox browser)

Everything is there plus the fade has gone.
