Stirrdup - Simple, Fast and better than Digg
Posted: November, 30 2007
Better than Digg? Well in some ways YES, we love the passive voting system, which although not unique to Stirrdup is a breath of fresh air over the Digg offering, which promotes Digg Circles.
What is Stirrdup?
Stirrdup is a relatively new (May 2007) Social News Community website, we hear of them all the time, so nothing new there then, well no not really, but Stirrdup uses passive voting.
What is Passive Voting?
Passive voting, basically means that the user has to actually read an article before it gains points, one point per person, not totally unique but better than the Digg system which can be voted on without even reading any content, crazy.
Fast
Oh yes, leagues ahead of most Social sites, but then again it is only early days in terms of traffic, lets see how that Iron holds up if they got down to an Alexa rank of 117 (Diggs current Alexa Rank)
