Scrabulous to be pulled from Facebook

  Posted: January, 17 2008

Scrabulous, the word game enjoyed by over half a million Facebook users every day is set to be pulled from the site after Scrabble owners Hasbro and Mattel, say it infringements on their copyright. Two Brothers, Rajat and Jayant Agarwalla built the software for Facebook.

Scrabulous is currently one of Facebook’s ten most popular applications, according to the Scrabulous website it has 594,924 daily active users - about a quarter of the total that have signed up to play it.

Rory Cellan-Jones, BBC technology correspondent, had this to say:

the early dreams of being a happy-clappy, open-source, “do no evil” kind of business soon fade when the realisation dawns that you are worth suing.
