School uniform maker installs tracking bugs
Posted: August, 24 2007SCHOOL UNIFORM maker Trutex says it is “seriously considering” adding satellite tracking devices to its clothing range.
The Lancashire company said it was considering the move because parents were interested in knowing where their kids were.
According to the Grauniad, a survey of 809 parents and 444 children aged between nine and 16 showed that 44 percent of adults were worried about the safety of pre-teen children and 59 per cent wanted satellite tracking systems being incorporated in schoolwear.
Given the fact that the sort of parents who want their kids wired up to the Internet are the same type who drive them to school every morning in a Range Rover and know exactly where they are anyway, we would have thought it was redundant technology. Unless they wanted to see when little Nigel was doing his maths class.
